How do I manage my supplement subscription?

To manage your subscription, add products, change your address or delivery date or cancel your subscription, follow this link

Why was I charged twice for the same order?

You may see a pre-authorization charge that may or may not have included tax before a final total. Upon final charge, the tax was determined and then adjusted accordingly. The adjusted amount was then authorized and captured as payment. The pre-authorization should drop off your payment method shortly after the final authorization. If it doesn't, please let us know by contacting shop@galvestondiet.com.

Where is my order?

If you are concerned about the delivery of your order, please email our success team at shop@galvestondiet.com. If your package shows that it is "Delivered," but you do not have it in hand, please give it a day or so to show. There is a high probability that it will arrive safely.

Do you sell Magnesium?

We currently do not sell a Magnesium supplement. Dr. Haver uses a magnesium supplement called Neuro-Mag L-Threonate by Life Extensions.

Will taking the supplements break my fast, especially if I am practicing intermittent fasting?

The Program starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online program – you decide when you start and when you finish.

FAQ by Supplement:
Fiber GDX

HOW DO I TAKE THE FIBER GDX?

We recommend getting as much fiber through whole foods (25-35g) each day, then supplementing the gap as needed. When you begin, use 1/4 scoop and slowly increase to 1 scoop over a few weeks. Increasing when you feel your digestive system is adjusting well enough to do so. There is no rush to get to 1 scoop; adding it too fast can promote intestinal gas, abdominal bloating, and cramping. Add the Fiber GDX to a cup/tumbler/shaker bottle with at least 8 ounces of water/ juice/favorite beverage, then shake or stir vigorously. Be sure to stay hydrated while increasing your fiber intake. Fiber binds with water. If you are Intermittent Fasting, taking the Fiber GDX only during your eating window is recommended as it has calories and stevia. For a tasty treat, combine the Fiber GDX with the Skin Boost Collagen Acai Lemonade and consume together. Dr. Haver and many of the Galveston Diet team combine the two! It can help thin out the Fiber and dilute the sweetness of the collagen ~ win, win!

WHY DOES MY FIBER BECOME THICK AND GEL-LIKE?

As soluble fiber dissolves, it creates a gel that may improve digestion in several ways. If you want to know more about soluble and insoluble fiber, this article by Healthline is a great resource. If you have a challenging time consuming the fiber, try one or all of these recommendations: Use a shaker bottle to help quickly break up the fiber; continue adding water and shake as needed as you consume. Add 12+ ounces of water to help dilute the fiber; continue adding water and shake/stir as needed. Combine with our Sparkle Skin Boost Collagen - Acai Lemonade flavor - for a tasty treat!

MY FIBER GDX MEASURING SCOOP IS MISSING, WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE SCOOP?

We are so sorry to hear this! Manufacturing hiccups happen, and a measuring scoop is skipped occasionally. No worries! We don't want you to skip a beat, so one full scoop of the Fiber GDX equals one tablespoon. When you get the chance, please notify us at shop@thepauselife.com and let us know about your missing scoop.
OMEGA-3 + Vitamin D & K

Can I take all four capsules at the same time?

Yes. You can take 2, two times a day, or you can take four once a day.

Does the Omega-3 contain Shellfish?

Our Omega-3 supplement contains sardines that aren't shellfish but contain a protein similar to shellfish. We recommend consulting with your medical provider before starting any new supplements if you have concerns.

Is 4,000 IU too much Vitamin D?

The Omega-3 with Vitamin D and Vitamin K includes 4,000 IU of Vitamin D, which is the upper limit of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) that is safe to consume. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D and require more than the average RDA of 600 IU. This can be particularly important for women in perimenopause and menopause. Having this conversation with your medical provider, who can test you for any deficiency and prescribe you the proper Vitamin D dosage specific to your situation, is essential. Please seek your provider's advice for any questions or concerns. Read more from Dr. Haver in her blog Omega-3, Vitamin D3 & K2: Partners in Health
Creatine

How Do I Take the Creatine?

Mix 1 scoop (5g) with at least 8 ounces of water or your preferred beverage daily or as recommended by your healthcare professional. It can be used 30-90 minutes before or after exercise. To learn more about the benefits of creatine supplementations, visit our recent blog here.

What Is Creatine Loading?

In a creatine loading phase, taking 20 - 25 grams of creatine daily for 5 - 7 days can rapidly increase your muscle stores of creatine by 10-40%. After the loading phase, you can maintain your stores of creatine by taking a lower dose of 5 grams daily. It is up to each individual to decide whether or not to complete a loading phase. Studies show that lower doses of creatine (5 grams) taken once daily can be equally effective at maximizing your stores of creatine, it just may take a bit longer.
Collagen Skin Boost Plus

Will the Sparkle Skin Boost Collagen Break my fast?

Yes. The collagen has calories and protein and will break your fast and likely negate the benefits of the fast. It is recommended to consume the supplement during your eating window to maintain the integrity of your fasting window.

How do I take the Sparkle Skin Boost Collagen?

There are several ways to consume the Skin Boost Collagen, including combining it with our Fiber GDX. Here are some simple suggestions:
  • Pour one scoop of Skin Boost Plus into a glass of water and stir. Best done with room temperature water, then chill afterward with ice.
  • Blend into Smoothies: Add to your smoothie preparation before you blend.
  • With Tea: Skin Boost Plus' light flavor notes complement many teas. Collagen can be added to hot or cold beverages. Mix one scoop into your cup, and enjoy!
  • Mix with Yogurt. Collagen can be added to food too! To add Skin Boost Plus to your yogurt, add one scoop, then mix well. Then add the yogurt to your morning bowl.

Is the Skin Boost Collagen vegan?

No. It is bovine-derived collagen that is 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised.

What is Verisol and what is the benefit of including it in my daily nutrition?

Verisol is a bioactive collagen peptide clinically proven to boost the skin's collagen levels by up to 60%. In a double-blind, controlled study amongst over 100 women, after 4-6 weeks of taking VERISOL daily, they experienced more evened skin surface and visible reduction in fine lines around the eyes. Contains 5,000 mg of Gelita Verisol.

TURMERIC

Why is black pepper fruit extract included with Turmeric?

While black pepper has multiple benefits, its most significant benefit may be its ability to boost the absorption of curcumin. For more information: Why Turmeric and Black Pepper is a Powerful Combination.

What is The ‘Pause Life?

In 2019, when Dr. Haver set out to change the way women approach their nutrition, she did it by introducing The Galveston Diet. Since then, she has seen a serious lack of resources as it relates to aging, midlife, and menopause. The ‘Pause Life is the product of this evolution and will continue to grow and provide resources, tools, and support needed as you move through the changes associated with menopause.

What is the difference between The ‘Pause Life, The Galveston Diet, and The ‘Pause Nutrition Supplements?

The 'Pause Life is your main resource for information and access to different "tools," which we call The Menopause Toolkit. The Galveston Diet is the nutrition arm of The 'Pause Life; it is the foundational program that started the larger conversation about living and feeling your best in midlife and menopause. The 'Pause Nutrition Supplements' are another tool to complement your nutrition and fill in the gaps where your food can't.

Do The Galveston Diet Meals Fit Fat Loss Macros?

The Galveston Diet Meals are a great tool to use to help supplement the meals and snacks you make for yourself at home. They are made with fresh ingredients that align with The Galveston Diet principle of an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition, but they are not all designed to hit a specific macro ratio or target. The macronutrient needs of those who follow The Galveston Diet vary and the meals being offered reflect that. To see if a meal fits your macros goals, you can enter the nutritional information listed for an individual meal into Cronometer as a Custom Food. Then you can decide, based on the macros of that meal, if you’d like to add it to your order. As long as you track your own macros and ensure that your dietary choices are limiting, rather than promoting, inflammation in your body, you can enjoy any of The Galveston Diet meals and compliment them with the meals and snacks you make at home with the ingredients you enjoy the most!

When can I see the menu?

New menus are added every Friday morning. This menu is visible up until the next order deadline – Thursday, at midnight EST. Our menus vary, depending on your location! We make sure there’s a variety of fresh and delicious food, prepared locally, for all of our members.

What if I have allergies or dietary preferences/intolerances?

If there are certain ingredients you need to steer clear of, you can always add them to your list of Ingredients to Avoid. Once you’ve added ingredients to this list, we’ll take your omissions into account while we curate your menu. Log into your Dashboard, select the order you want to make changes to and click “Manage Upcoming Deliveries”. Choose the ingredients you would like to avoid and save your changes!

What are your quality standards?

All of the animal proteins are raised without antibiotics or hormones and seafood is fished or farmed in ways that don’t harm the ocean environment. We also opted to avoid the top inflammatory foods so you can be sure there is no gluten, dairy, refined sugars or inflammatory oils such as canola or grapeseed in your meals.

When is the deadline to place an order?

You can place their first order any time before Thursdays at midnight EST and you will receive your meals the following week.

When will I receive my meals?

Delivery is based on your location: Members in local delivery zones (LA, DC, and NYC area) may receive up to two deliveries per week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. These members can choose meals for either, or both, delivery dates and can order a minimum of 4 meals and a maximum of 24 meals per week. Members in our shipped delivery zones get one weekly delivery, on Wednesdays and can order a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 meals per week.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Follow this link and fill out your information.

What do I do if I am Having Issues with the App?

The Circle (App) team is constantly making updates to their App capabilities.
  • Please check for any recent App updates.
  • A device power reset may help.
  • You may also need to check your device for updates as well.
  • Also, sometimes if those steps above do not help, verifying any security settings you may have within your device settings or wifi that may be prevents access through the app. Turning your wifi off can help to see if it makes a difference.

  • Oftentimes those updates and/or steps will resolve any issues you may be having. If the update doesn't resolve your issue, please contact us.
