At Pause Life, we've always believed that taking care of yourself and taking care of the planet go hand in hand. That's why we're making one of the most meaningful changes in our company's history, and we want you to be the first to know.

We're Saying Goodbye to the Plastic Tub

Our powder supplements, including Fiber GDX, Creatine, and Skin & Bone Collagen, have always come in rigid plastic containers. We're in the process of transitioning those products to flexible stand-up pouches, and we're genuinely excited about what that means for the planet.

This isn't just a packaging update. It's a commitment to doing less harm from the very H2: beginning.

So What Is Source Reduction, Exactly?

Source reduction means preventing waste before it's ever created. Not recycling it after the fact. Not composting it. Actually preventing it from existing in the first place. According to the U.S. EPA, it's the single most preferred method of waste management, ranked above recycling, energy recovery, and landfill disposal.

Here's the reality about those familiar plastic tubs: most of them don't actually get recycled. Not because people don't care, but because the recycling infrastructure simply isn't there for many communities. Flexible pouches help us get ahead of that problem by using significantly less material from the start.

The Numbers That Made Us Take Notice

One truckload of flat pouches replaces 15 to 25 truckloads of empty rigid containers. Let that sink in. Fewer trucks on the road means fewer emissions, less fuel, and a lighter footprint across the entire supply chain.

Our rigid containers also required 5 separate components to source and manage:

  • Canister

  • Lid

  • Tamper band

  • Tamper seal

  • Label

A flexible pouch replaces all of that with a single packaging unit. Based on our 2024 sales, this transition represents the elimination of more than 350,000 rigid plastic containers and a reduction of more than 233,000 pounds of plastic container waste across our powder product line alone.

This Is Just the Beginning

Every big change starts with a first step, and this is ours. Beyond the pouch transition, we're exploring the removal of single-use scoops, developing reusable product options, and researching refillable formats for the future. We're committed to sharing our progress along the way, because transparency is just as important to us as the change itself.

We're also working toward pouch options that can be recycled at store drop-off locations, making it even easier for you to be part of the solution when you're done with your product.

Taking Care of You Means Taking Care of the Planet

Pause Life was built on the belief that feeling good and doing good aren't mutually exclusive. Every step we take toward smarter packaging is part of our commitment to you and to the world we all share.
